Sandy Pines is now hiring an Addiction Counselor.

Sandy Pines is a 149 bed Residential Psychiatric Facility servicing children and adolescents ages 5 to 17. The facility is located in beautiful sub-tropical South Florida and is nestled beside Jonathan Dickinson Sate Park which creates a rustic, roomy outdoor atmosphere. Sandy Pines is at the county line of both Palm Beach and Martin Counties and is just minutes away from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.

A certified substance abuse counselor is a qualified clinician responsible for providing counseling services to clients recovering from addiction to substance, drugs or alcohol. The Addictions Counselor is responsible for the overall design and implementation of the facility's substance abuse services program. Their duties include evaluating and treating patients' mental and physical health and providing support to addicts. reports directly to Director of Clinical Services.

Qualifications
Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work or related field. Master's level Certified Additions Professional preferred. Must have at least 2 years' experience working with children and adolescents in a substance abuse/addiction treatment program.

Required

  • Masters' degree in counseling or a related field
  • State licensing or certification
  • Experience in individual and group counseling
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Risponsabilities

  • Counsel patients sessions as appropriate
  • Create and modify individualized treatment strategies, evaluations of progress while in counseling
  • Mediate and advocate for patients in the event that emergencies arise
  • Assess patients' substance dependency status continually
  • Advise family members and friends in how best to understand patients' struggles and provide support during the recovery process
