Here's what you'd do:

  • The Document Automation Specialist is a key player in automating complex document creation processes that are central to client projects, from generating an initial quote to producing the custom Remote Terminal Unit (RTU).
  • Developing and maintaining this document automation system.
  • Excel Workbook, Word document, and VBA Macro Development and maintenance.
  • Design, code, and maintain VBA Excel macro-enabled workbooks to automate a complex and highly customizable product quotation process.
  • This includes seamless data transfer and integration between Excel and Word to generate customer-facing proposal documents rapidly.
  • Develop and update solutions for linking to remote data sources to ensure real-time and accurate data retrieval for document generation.
  • Implemented and maintained CSV and XML export functionalities within Excel to facilitate automated document generation for SCADA system configurations and CAD-based electrical.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of documents generated by Controls Engineers and Sales Engineers via MS Excel workbooks and VBA macros, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards.
  • Provide feedback on necessary adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, understanding their data requirements and implementing solutions that enhance document creation efficiency.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on utilizing advanced Excel and Word functionalities and assist in troubleshooting data integration and document automation issues.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance document automation workflow.

Job Requirements
Here's what requirements you'll need:
  • Associate's Degree in Business Information Systems
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience creating integrated document automation systems in a business environment
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with VBA, as a power user of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with connecting to and retrieving data from external sources.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in automated XML and CSV export and mapping within Excel

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Information Systems.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Word, emphasizing advanced VBA programming and automatic generation of Word documents populated with data from Excel.

  • Proficiency in automated XML and CSV export and mapping within Excel.

  • Certification or specialized coursework in VBA programming, XML, and data integration.

Additional Information:

  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.

  • Body Positions: Standing, sitting, walking, lifting (up to 60 lbs), talking, hearing and handling.
