POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for participating in clinical trials with Protocol Development, Development of Clinical Sites and Training of Physicians for Minimally Invasive hybrid therapies, AF surgery, LAAM surgery and the Electrophysiology components of both procedures. This position includes Key Opinion leader development and relationship building with regards to Development of Hybrid AF procedures and Left Atrial Appendage Closure. This position should be able to contribute to the Clinical group with procedure training. This position is also responsible for case coverage and assistance with questions regarding Surgical and Electrophysiological AF procedures. This position will work with local representatives to search out and energize potential sites. This position requires travel and weekend work as well as international case coverage, training and Arrhythmia Physician development. This position should be able to work with the Management team to identify and acquire new sites as possible clinical sites.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Training of physician staff related to AF surgery and electrophysiology
  • Work with the clinical trial program managers to help identify appropriate sites for clinical trial participation
  • Develop strategies and assist clinical trial sites in patient enrollment efforts and initiatives
  • Developing relationships with key opinion leaders
  • Study and provide case coverage for Minimally Invasive AF surgery (Clip and hybrid)
  • Train clinical coordinators on the hybrid procedure
  • Conduct operating room in-services
  • Collaborate with Clinical Coordinators on procedure development
  • Provide high level of intel on electrophysiology and surgical AF instrumentation/terminology

ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • Knowledge of Electrophysiology, Basic EP as well as AF ablation and Diagnostic Catheters
  • Knowledge of Minimally Invasive surgical technique required
  • Proven clinical coverage experience
  • Knowledge and experience in Atrial Fibrillation and must be extremely well read on AF journals
  • Expertise in the atrial fibrillation disease state as well as Left Atrial Appendage Management (LAAM)
  • Ability to build strong relationships with physicians and hospital administrators
  • Five plus years of demonstrated success in growing a medical device business in the cardiovascular product areas or a related discipline, including direct experience with cardiac ablation surgery products
  • Ability to travel up to 50% including some international and at times short notice

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Nursing background a plus
  • Located near major airport

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as required
  • Ability to occasionally bend and push/pull
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
